“Never lose sight of why you started in the first place.”
For me, my motivation comes from my family. Not just my parents or sister, but my grandparents especially. They immigrated to the States because they had dreams of their children and future generations to have a better life than they did. My dream role isn’t a company or a title, it’s a point where I can look back on my life and say “I accomplished the dreams my family had for me even before I was born.” That is something I will never lose sight of.
What’s out there right now that is inspiring you?
Lately, a lot of my inspiration for photoshoots has been found by watching TikToks! Seeing the fashion, makeup and art on there makes me want to push the boundaries of my creativity and step out of my sports photography. For example, I’d love to do a more editorial-style shoot with inspiration from the Euphoria makeup and lighting.
Do you have any favorite apps, gadgets or hardware?
I love Adobe Lightroom and the mobile app for editing software. The mobile app is especially handy if I’m going on a car trip but want to make sure I edit a few photos. Two of my favorite lenses are the Sigma 85mm and the Canon 11–24mm (which is perfect for any arena or stadium shots).
What’s something some people may not know about you?
I love to read! I’ve always loved books since I was little and love going to book stores sometimes even all day. I’ve got a bookshelf that’s quickly filling up! But whenever I do have free time I love sitting down with a physical book for hours.
Who is someone you want to give some much-deserved credit?
Taylor Banner! She has really built the photography and graphic design team over at Charlotte FC, especially during their inaugural season. Takes a lot of thought to built something from scratch but she definitely deserves some praise for all of her hard work behind the scenes.
What is a piece of content you are obsessed with from another creator or brand?
I love the NBA Paint and NFL Paint accounts! It’s so cool to see how it started and now watching them do a collab with TNT is amazing!
